Ash Fall

So after a week of Mt Reboubt erupting, we finally are getting ash fall here. We took some samples to send to the Alaska Volcano Observatory. My mouth, throat and sinuses were feeling a bit gritty after being out in it
.
Here is Penny wondering what is in the zipper bags.

Dress Up

Jillian dug into her costumes yesterday to play dress up with her friend, Ella. Jillian has a mix of a fairy costume on her legs, an inside-out tutu around her neck and a beach towel. Ella found the very cute giraffe.

Yes, More!

We have accumulated 14 inches of new snow overnight. Predictions say we could get up to 18 inches more. "Yes Jillian, there really is spring elsewhere." Should make Easter egg hunting interesting in a few weeks. (When I was taking the photo above of the house from the top of the driveway, I was standing in a burm which was hip deep.)

Good thing I had made a path for Begguya. Otherwise he was hopping through it.

Still Winter Here

You are probably asking yourself if these are all the pictures we can take. "All we see are pictures of Jillian playing in the snow." Well, it's because that is all we have right now. Snow, and plenty of it. Are we ready for Spring? Yes! Are we bitter about the snow? A little, but the returning sunlight helps.

Tram Tour at Alyeska

Jillian did a "tram tour" with the community school. We boarded the tram at Alyeska Resort (with a bunch of skiers and snowboarders) and had lunch on the mountain at the Glacier Express restaurant. We even went behind the scenes to see the engine room.

Snow Time

It finally snowed yesterday. So we had a foot of new fluffy fun to play in last night.

This is Jillian trying to shake the snow off a small Spruce tree to make Spring come. Good luck!

Then she got to ride in dad's push shovel.
